The longtime inspiration for the guest bathroom was the Ace Hotel in Portland. Our 2012 4th of July trip to Portland was one of our first real trips as a married couple that were completely OUR trip and not out of a family event or wedding. We chose Portland because we were into the show Portlandia and plotted an itinerary that HAD to include accommodations at the Ace Hotel. We magically got upgraded and the bathroom was always this hipster thing that never left my mind. Many times I plotted a sink like this until having kids told me that storage was incredibly important. Holy crap. I didn't realize it but we ended up doing a sliding door as well! Man, it was really subconcios. The board for the bathroom was always Portland hipster but age and maturity led me to the final design and eventually the execution.

SUMMER BABY! Well, it's after memorial day and the kids are done with school and we threw an outdoor movie night so it is my favorite time of year. The absolute joy of this season, the infinite possibilities. I can't even contain all the ideas I have about the season and what we're gonna do or where we're gonna go and what we have already done. And of course what I'm gonna wear. The marketing retailers have emerged from on high that cornflower blue is one of the colors of Spring or Summer and who am I to deny their genius move. Blue's been my favorite color since always and thankfully it's the color for the Dodgers and Ravenclaw house. I actually didn't think I owned much blue clothing but anything I buy as far as accessories or anything for travel is always blue. On a recent work trip my delusional self bought some fun accessories in that cornflower blue color and then a few more things found themself in my shopping cart and on my person.  But what bett...
