the next office

Either a green wall with a pink couch.
Or a pink wall with a green couch (slipcover photo not available).
What do we like better?

low wedges are hot right now

It seems like every mass retailer is selling a version. They add a little height and a splash of color.
I want the burgundy ones but I might just stick to black.

black and white and wood

I am not sure why I resisted wood before. It works really well with black and white.
I think I'd love to have one of them farm table types that extends.
Plus it has more of a personality as it ages.

the girls and a tambourine

I was visiting mom last week and she was watching both girls and all of a sudden Angie brought out a tambourine and they took turns playing it and dancing.
It's crazy how different they are at two. They actually form sentences and use their imagination. I like them much better now than when they had to be constantly monitored and tearing my books.

loafers are hot right now

The first few iterations I've seen of this trend I was skeptical of but I am enjoying them now as positive alternatives to ballet flats.
I brought these home from Topshop in New York and wear them probably too much.
I am trying to convince my mother in-law that she needs a pair but we have to find just the right ones. I think the Gap ones in assorted colors are just the ticket.

things I do with time off

Purchase and wrap Christmas presents in October.

Both sets of nieces done now just need in-laws and whoever we get for the family gift exchanges. I did other things too but this felt very productive.

let's think of something to do while we're waiting

While we're waiting for a new house to do things to.

This is a Mister Rogers reference and I've listened to it three times hoping it would help me think of new exciting things to blog about. I think I should just start working on mock ups and design boards for future house. And maybe clothes boards too.

stop the presses

OMFGCO: Oh my freaking Golf Cart Ornament.
I am desperately gonna need it for my office tree.

Peace out foos. It's the freaken weeken. We're going to Disneyland today with Chelle & my sister and to Biola tonight to see some Biola people show Biola films (blech someone shoot me, I'm just going to see my friends), see Book of Mormon on Saturday (swear words galore!), and hang with Matt's family on Sunday that I'm actually excited about 'cause I haven't seen them since I went to New York in like AUGUST and one of them got engaged (to a Puerto Rican so we get more latina to this whitey family. also she has nephews that are amazing!) so we have to gush about that.

Hope you guys get some golf in. Or whatever you do that isn't golf.

my office when it's photographed by a good camera

Ali said I needed to use the nice camera to blog. Ugh, that's like, extra work! Fine fine. These I took in June and it still pretty much looks this way right now save a few things.
Wow, that camera sure does help the situation.

I have a giant list of things to do now that I'm unemployed for a week or so. Which includes planning and taking care of all Christmas things now before I start a big job that will consume my life. Why wait? Now to design and execute a Christmas party theme in October...

when boston invades los angeles

Both of my besties were in town one weekend in September! For one glorious night they both slept under the same roof as me. Sigh. Why do my bitches gotta be else places? Unfortunately we had to share our time together with our significant others, current roommates, college pals, and family. I am greedy. I want them all to myself. Me me me. It's a good thing I like all these other peeps. I mean, who doesn't love Jesse and more importantly, Jesse's beard.
We celebrated all the holidays we could and we got macaroons from Bottega Louie.
Ali's older sister Megan (in the stripes) lived on the same floor as us freshman year and we were pretty close and she's the reason Ali & I even met but I totally dumped her for her younger sister like some awful dude that trades his wife of 20 years for a model half her age. My excuse is we're in the same major. Also, Megan ditched us for Stewart Hall and some chick who I loathe but that's another story...
It's so strange adulthood, people moving away. It makes you wistful for the times when getting together for lunch was a 3 digit extension away.
Adulthood is pretty boss too though and at least now we don't have to deal with homework.
